Georgia Lawns - When to fertilize, do weed control, and more

If you are like me you like to take care of your Georgia lawn but aren't sure what to do and when to do it.

When do I put down Pre emergent weed prevention?

When do I fertilize?

When do I aerate?

How about lime? How much? When?

Are you tired of paying those guys in the big Chem Lawn truck to come and spray your yard, and then you always wonder, did they do anything or not?

I found some great lawn care calendars on the Georgia Gardener. Most of the lawns in this area are either Bermuda or Fescue but I links here to several calenders.

Fescue Grass Care Calendar

Zoysia Grass Care Calendar

Centipede Grass Care Calendar

Bob, Thank you for the calendars.  I have been in my house 3 years and last year was suppose to be the summer my grass filled in but the drought ruined that plan.  SO, I am back at it this spring but it has been raining to hard for me to put seed down without it washing away.  My yard slopes bad and I need gentle rain or watering to get the seeds to germinate.  Wish me luck.

Jimmy McCall~Clarksville's Mortgage Consultant - Good luck with it.  I actually did get my yard looking pretty good last year.  Lots of watering before the total ban.  We'll see pretty soon how well it has suvived the drought.
