Total Eclipse

Weds night I sat out in the front yard of our Powder Springs, Georgia with my kids and we were treated to a fantastic show in the night sky.

beginning of the lunar eclipse

It started off a little cloudy and weren't sure how much of the show we would be able to see.

Full lunar eclipse

Fortunately the skies cleared about 15 minutes before the eclipse was at its peek.

Eclipse plus Saturn

As an added bonus - look at that white dot at about 7 o'clock from the moon. The camera didn't pick it up to well but it's Saturn in full view.

We also had our telescope set up and got some great views of the eclipse and the rings of Saturn. It was an unbelievably inspiring night.  The designer of the universe is truly awesome ...

"1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

Genesis 1:1-3

I caught part of the eclipse as I was leaving church services Wednesday night.  It is pretty amazing when you think about it.  Thanks for post the pics and the verse.

It was too cloudy, foggy, and rainy in Dallas to see it.

I'm glad I got to see parts of it; we'll have to wait 3 years for the next one :(
Glad you took photos-that is really cool.
