Where were you when the world stopped turning...

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

I was out in the yard planting flowers.

Later that morning on my way to work I stopped by the Church and prayed. I prayed for the victims, I prayed for our Country.  I also remember that I prayed for the perpetrators, not for their souls but enlightenment of those behind attacks.

My son was in pre k down the hall from the sanctuary.  I had no idea if the teacher new what had happened in the outside world so I didn't say anything to her about that.  I just stopped by to give my son a hug and say "hi".

Alan Jackson did a beautiful song "Where were you when the world stopped turning"

Take your pick of which video to watch.

One is Alan performing the song live

The other is the song but with images from 9/11.
WARNING- If your memory of that day has faded then this is graphic and disturbing.  Be prepared to bring bad old memories and grab a Kleenex

We all remember where we were that day...and will never forget the ones who died or how we felt. Thanks.

Bob, thanks for posting. Awesome song indeed. I hope that all Americans will take a moment today to pray for those who lost their lives on 9/11 as well as those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice since.

I was sitting right where I am now, in my den watching TV. We saw the second plane hit. Needless to say, we were stunned. Thank God it was not the 15,000 that was originally believed.

My greatest fear is they will pull some other nonsense on this date, near the time.

I remember exactly where I was, driving on the freeway passing under an overpass when I heard the radio announcer interrupt the program. To this day as I pass that place I always remember what it felt like. May we never forget and may we never take for granted the freedom and the country we have. God bless America and I'm so thankful for all those who have given themselves in such a great cause. Let's not stand still while others are trying to re-write and sidetrack what this was!
