Local Real Estate Comments and Ramblings

ABC Nightline and big events in Acworth Ga.

If you have been to downtown Acworth anytime in the last few years you know that there has been a very nice "rebirth" of the downtown business district. Henry's Louisiana grill has been a huge part of that growth.  There are a couple of big events for Chef Henry this month!

Every year ABC Nightline does a contest recognizing local chefs and Chef Henry has has made the top 20!  To win he just needs our votes. Click on the platelist link below and be sure to go vote for Chef Henry!

Aside from (or maybe along with) being a great member of the local community, Chef Henry is cancer survivor and transplant recipient.  On Sept 25 he is hosting a"Cajun Celebration" to benefit the Ga transplant foundation. Not coincidentally that date is 1 day before the voting deadline for the platelist contest.  I'm sure there will be plenty of Cajun good times, fund raising, and at least a few reminders to go vote in the plate list contest :-) .

To vote for Chef Henry visit ABC News/Nightline’s website at http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/Platelist by Sept. 26.
For tickets and more information on the Cajun Celebration visit www.gatransplant.org.

Chef Henry Chandler of Henry’s Louisiana Grill in Acworth has a full plate this September, which is nothing out of the ordinary for him.

In early August, Henry was notified by ABC Nightline’s executive producer that he had been chosen from 1,000 applicants as one of the top local chefs in America for the “People’s Platelist” contest. Several weeks ago, the list of 1,000 was whittled down to 20 and Henry made the cut. Online voting will conclude Sept. 27, and the winner will get a 10-minute spot on ABC’s Nightline on Sept. 30.

Yes-I have been to that downtown. That is great when small cities rebirth downtown. It is best for the whole community.

I wish I lived closer and could sample the ambiance and cuisine.
