I have just plugged in a new IDX search to my website. It's been there about 2 weeks now and I love it! They are not giving me any kind of referral or anything like that. Nothing in this for me other than it's a great product and worth sharing.
The provider is a company called Listingware. The product was easy to set up and plug in to the search for homes function my website. It has great features to capture prospect info and the back end information details are amazing. I can see how long they have looked, what they looked at, different searches they've entered, get breakdowns on most popular searches, and much much more.
I can send automated detailed searches to prospects that have signed up or that I have entered myself. This is a great alternative to sending the listings from my mls since I will be able to track their viewings and activities. With my former IDX provider I couild only save searches narrowed down to the price, city and zip, but I couldn,t save searches by school or subdivision.
The feature that I really like though is the api codes to create specific search links to use in my marketing. One of the things that I like to do is create a neighborhood website for my market areas such as www.MyCountryWalkHome.info. Once I have the website set up I can insert a link specifically to search for Country Walk Homes.
All in all listing ware is a great product and I have to say it is worth looking at. They are not nationwide but they are in several market areas around the country. Check them out if you are interested!

We have been working on a IDX solution since April, and all we are waiting on now it the local MLS to actually give us the agent feeds. I cannot wait, it has been a long and painful road.

James, Good luck. I hope the new service works well for you.
Jim, It is a grwat product. I hope not too many folks here in the Atlanta area find out about though :-).
These idx search products do seem to get better and better. Keller Williams is rolling out one that is free to all KW agents who have taken the time to set up their free KW e-agentc website. I just got mine and it is great. Click over and give it a test drive.

Figures, my MLS is not on it yet...

Bob, you are spot on about the community pages. We've been providing these for quite some time. You might be surprised to learn that the search engines really like them, too. First, they are pages that update daily with content that is related to just a few search terms (ie, the community terms) and, more importantly, these pages keep your visitors on your site longer and the search engines definitely reward you for that.
Gary, try googling your MLS's name and the word "IDX" to see who is providing private solutions in your area. The features that Bob is describing are not that special. Check out the other vendors who ARE serving your area and see how they can help you out.
It really is amazing how different each company that offers IDX now is even compared to just a couple years ago.
Interesting, I might want to check this one out. Tracy, thanks for your comments here--I will try that.
Hello Bob,
Thanks for sharing your experience and use of this IDX provider's solution.
