Cobb County, After the floods

After the floods...   12-28-2009

I drove past Legion Park in Austell, Ga. today.  It was a poignant reminder of the incredible amount of damage done by the September floods in our area.

As you can see the park is closed and there was significant damage to the park and ball fields.

Damage and floodline

Many home owners are still rebuilding.  In some areas there are still roads and bridges closed, and all over the southwest corner of Cobb County and the neighboring areas of Paulding and Douglas counties, there is still a lot of rebuilding to be done.

It is amazing how many of us in other parts of the country do not realize the amount of damage that was done, unless the major television channels keep it at the top of our minds 24/7 it becomes just another news story.  Is there anything that we Realtors can do to assist in this area, any projects which are ongoing.  I feel badly for those who have enjoyed this park in the past and now are forbidden access.

thanks for keeping us up to date on Cobb County.
