Healthy ways to build credit?

I am not an advocate of people setting out to build credit.  After being in the mortgage and real estate business for the 7 years and being in the car business for 5 years before that I can you that with good steady verifiable income and good bank statements, you can buy a car or home on credit with a credit score of 0. However I also realize that most people have a credit score and depend on that score to obtain credit for their major purchases.

If you have no credit or very limited credit and you are interested in building up your credit score then this is a pretty article.

On the other hand, if you have credit cards, and those cards have balance on them, don't read the article.  You already have too much credit. Pay off those cards and live within your means. I'm not preaching, I'm speaking from experience!

I think people should learn how to build credit in a healthly manner.  Paying bills on time is the best rule on the list.
