Good By My Little Friend

Good by my little friend....

He came to us about 8 years or so ago.  Just wondered up the street from a neighbor.  We found his rightful owner and got him home.  A few weeks later they found out they had to move out of state and "Scooby" could not go along.  He was ours!

Scoob loved to curl up up on the couch  or in the bed with us. His favorite place to spend the night was in our bed.  It true that there is nothing quite like waking up in the morning with a chihuahua in your crotch :-)

My wife commented today that she thought he was losing weight and he didn't seem to be feeling well but nothing that seemed alarming.  I said that I would call Dr Koopman tomorrow.  We spent the afternoon with my family for a Christmas celebration.  When we got home I found Scooby curled up the blanket where he had been sleeping when we left...

Bob -  how sad.  My heart goes out to you and your family to lose such an important member at any time is horrible but during the holiday period, is just rotton!  Remember the many wonderful years you had together.

That's sad, Bob.  You will miss Scooby but at least you got to enjoy his love and companionship for 8 years.  Our beagle is almost 9 so this is something I have started thinking about lately.

Sorry for your loss.At least he had a wonderful home and you had a great companion. I have lost many over the years and each one I held as they transcended. They never leave your heart. They each bring something special...

He is with the angels now. You gave him a wonderful life and he is truly thankful for you. Be well, remember, and know that he will always be with you.

Hi Bob ~ Poor little pumpkin! So sweet the way he scoped you out and chose you for his new family.  Very sorry to hear the news.

Bob, losing my two Dalmatian's was just about the hardest thing I've had to go through...you never quite get over your loss...eventually it does get a little easier, but you never forget.

Bob, I'm sorry for your loss.  It's always hard to lose a good friend, and dogs are never with us as long as we would have them.   It sounds like Scooby went quietly and without much discomfort.

Thank you all for the kind wishes. I'm doing fine but my youngest daughter was very upset. It did seem that he was comfortable and quiet.  It was a littel strange not having him in the bed last night :-(

Bob, My heart breaks for you. There are just no words to describe the heavy heart that comes with the loss of our dear pets. Scooby was truly blest to have your loving care for eight years. I believe that you will see him again! God bless!

Bob,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  He was a little guy but brought you so much joy.  He chose a good home.

Bob,  This is the most heartbreaking experience we go through as dog owners, yet we choose to do it time and time again.  They are with us for a short time, yet the unconditional love our dogs bring us is something I, for one, cannot do without.  Those smiling faces by the door, the barking...IMO, you need to remember Scooby Doo and the love he brought to you and your wife with another dog, not  to replace him, but to fill the void in your hearts.

I wish you the best.

What a nice way for Scooby to make his exit - no decisions to make - no wondering if you could have done just one more surgery etc. I am sure you will miss him deeply for some time.

Sorry for your loss, losing a dog is one of the hardest things I have ever went through and it was 7 years before we got another dog earlier this year.
